Anonymous Seeks To Save Katie Holmes on "All My Sons" Opening Night

(New York, NY) October 16th, 2008 – Anonymous launches its next salvo in its campaign to expose the human rights abuses of the Church of Scientology. On Thursday October 16th, the internet based group known as "Anonymous" returns to Broadway in full force for the opening night of "All My Sons" featuring Katie Holmes.

On September 18th, Anonymous held a tremendously successful demonstration outside the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater at the "All My Sons" preview. News sources worldwide covered the protest. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Current tabloids speak of Katie Holmes' desire to escape the suffocating control of the Church of Scientology. [5] Anonymous encourages Ms. Holmes in this respect, and encourages all remaining Scientologists to leave the Church of Scientology. By virtue of the light hearted nature of its demonstrations, Anonymous hopes to show Scientologists that there is a world outside of the Church of Scientology, a world with family and friends who miss them and want them back.

Anonymous is not protesting against Katie Holmes, "All My Sons", or the belief system of Scientology. The October 16th event is part of a much larger worldwide campaign to expose the human rights abuses that the Church of Scientology perpetrates against its parishioners and critics. Such actions include stalking and harassment of critics, forced separations of families, coerced abortions, child labor, child abuse, negligent medial care, and the complete withholding of medical care, in some cases leading to death.

Prompted by the Church of Scientology's unrelenting efforts to shut down and censor all news accounts of its human rights abuses, Anonymous seeks to plug the gap. Anonymous makes prolific use of satire and humor to get its point across.

Anonymous will be meeting in Bryant Park between 5:00pm and 5:15pm, with the intent to arrive at the theater at 236 W45th between 7th & 8th by 5:30pm where they will stay for as long as possible without disturbing the show. Additionally Anonymous will hold its 9th global protest October 18th outside of Scientology organizations at 11:00am in every major city around the world.
